CHP's 'election without alliances' plan revealed! Can İmamoğlu win without an alliance?

As the local elections approach, alliance negotiations between political parties have reached their final stages.

While there have been no hitches in the negotiations held by the People's Alliance, formed by the AKP and MHP, with HÜDA-PAR, BBP, and DSP, the alliance talks with the New Welfare Party (Yeniden Refah Partisi) are expected to conclude in the coming days.

NO ALLIANCE IN THE OPPOSITION

On the opposition front, the possibilities for an alliance have completely disappeared. After its 'cooperation' proposal to the IYI Party was rejected, the CHP also saw the doors to an alliance closed by Homeland Party (Memleket Partisi) leader Muharrem İnce.

While the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi) has nominated Birol Aydın in Istanbul, the DEVA Party and the Democrat Party are also expected to announce their candidates in the coming days.

ALL EYES ON THE CHP-DEM PARTY MEETING

How the CHP's negotiations with the DEM Party will conclude will be determined next week.

According to a report in Gazete Duvar, the DEM Party has not yet made its decision regarding Istanbul, but many officials from both parties are discussing that it would not be a major surprise if they field their own candidates. If the situation turns out this way, the current mayor of Istanbul, Ekrem İmamoğlu, will enter the election with only the support of his own party.

CAN THE CHP BE SUCCESSFUL IN AN ELECTION WITHOUT ALLIANCES?

While there is great curiosity about what kind of result the CHP will achieve in an election without alliances, a CHP official explained his party's alliance plan.

According to the report in Gazete Duvar, emphasizing that they trust in a grassroots alliance, the CHP official stated, "Every party has the right to field its own candidate. When we field a candidate somewhere, we are not doing so by relying on the IYI Party or the DEM Party. Istanbul is already a municipality we govern. İmamoğlu is currently one of the most powerful political figures in Turkey. If other opposition parties field candidates, we cannot know whether all their voters will vote for those candidates or make other choices. We do not know how the cooperation negotiations will end, but there is no situation that prevents the search for cooperation or alliances in the eyes of the voters. We are relying on a grassroots alliance."
