CHP's Imrali session lasted two and a half hours: When will the final decision be announced?

Ahead of the critical vote to be held in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) tomorrow, the Republican People's Party (CHP) held a decisive meeting regarding the Imrali process. The meeting, where the party's stance on the Process Commission's request to meet with Abdullah Öcalan was discussed, lasted approximately 2.5 hours.

CRITICAL MEETING AT CHP CONCLUDED

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel presided over the meeting held to evaluate the agenda of a visit to Imrali. Party deputies serving on the Process Commission were also present at the meeting. It was decided that the decision regarding the visit would continue to be discussed within the party's boards.

FINAL STANCE TO BE DETERMINED TOMORROW

It was stated that no decision has emerged from the meeting yet and that the CHP will announce its stance on the Imrali visit tomorrow (November 21). The final position is expected to be clarified before the commission meeting.

COMMISSION HEADS TO VOTE TOMORROW

It was reported that the TBMM National Brotherhood, Solidarity and Democracy Commission will meet tomorrow at 11:00 AM under the chairmanship of TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. The agenda of a visit to Imrali is planned to be voted on at the meeting.

According to the commission's working procedures and principles:

The quorum for the meeting is provided by an absolute majority of the total number of members.

Decisions regarding the preparation of a legislative proposal require a three-fifths majority of the total number of members.

For all other decisions, an absolute majority of the members attending the meeting is sufficient.
