Claims of name and logo change for DEM Party

In the new opening process, which the government calls a "Terror-Free Turkey" and which was architected by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, eyes have turned to the timeline for when the terrorist organization PKK will lay down its arms.

In this direction, terrorists will begin to symbolically lay down their arms in Sulaymaniyah on July 11.

It has been claimed that the DEM Party, which is conducting negotiations with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, will also undergo a transformation as part of the new opening process.

According to a report by Helin Yılmaz from Halk TV, the DEM Party aims to reach a wider voter base across Turkey by changing both its name and its logo.

RESTRUCTURING PROCESS

Party sources refer to this transformation process as a "reconstruction process." During this process, which is expected to last until the end of the summer, new political discourses, cadres, and communication strategies will be developed. The DEM Party plans to announce this new identity to the public at a major congress.

ÖCALAN’S MESSAGE AND THE PARTY’S ROADMAP

It is stated that in the talks held with İmralı, terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan gave the message, "I believe in the power of politics and social peace, not weapons." It is expressed that these views of Öcalan will continue to play an important role in the party's new roadmap.

PLURALISTIC AND INCLUSIVE APPROACH

With this new restructuring, the DEM Party aims to position itself not only as a Kurdish political party but as an umbrella party that is ecological, feminist, and focused on social justice.

Although no final decision has been made regarding the party's new name, it is reported that concepts such as "unity," "freedom," and "new life" are coming to the fore. The process of determining the name and logo will become clear after conferences and regional meetings to be held with party components.
