Commentary on İmralı from Ümit Özdağ

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, who is being held at Silivri Prison, shared Deniz Zeyrek’s article titled “Are we ready for Öcalan’s physical freedom?” on his social media account and provided his assessment. 

Stating that Zeyrek asked an “important and correct question,” Özdağ outlined a striking scenario regarding a potential release process for Abdullah Öcalan, the leader of the terrorist organization PKK.

''HE WILL FIRST BE FREED ON İMRALI'' 

Zafer Party leader Özdağ argued that the process would begin with the island of İmralı ceasing to be a prison and becoming Öcalan’s personal living space. “The island will no longer be Öcalan’s prison; those who wish will go to the island and visit him,” said Özdağ, further claiming that in the next stage, Öcalan would appear on television broadcasts, and subsequently, the DEM Party would be directly linked to Öcalan.

Özdağ stated that following these steps, the public would be conditioned to the process, and eventually, Öcalan would begin making visits to cities under security measures.
