Constitutional Court terminates the legal existence of 2 political parties

The Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeals had filed a lawsuit to terminate the legal existence of the Vatanseverler Party due to its failure to hold its first grand congress on time and to establish its mandatory organs, and the Ayyıldız Party due to its failure to hold its last two grand congresses on time.

The Constitutional Court decided that both parties should be considered dissolved and their legal existence terminated within the framework of Article 121 of the Law on Political Parties No. 2820 and Article 87 of the Turkish Civil Code. According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, it was also ruled that all assets of these parties, which failed to fulfill their legal obligations, be transferred to the Treasury.
