Countdown begins in AKP: Erdoğan to change his A-team

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan presided over a meeting of the AKP's Central Decision and Administrative Board, where the congress calendar was determined.

According to the calendar, the town congresses will be held first, followed by district and provincial congresses, and finally the grand congress. In this context, neighborhood delegate elections have begun ahead of the congresses.

According to Habertürk, in the AKP, where the congress process has begun, town and district congress delegates will also be determined through neighborhood delegate elections.

WHEN IS THE AKP'S GRAND CONGRESS?

The preparation process before the grand congress is planned to last 90 days. The AKP, which will hold congresses in 37 towns, is expected to begin both town and district congresses on October 12. The provincial congresses are targeted to begin on December 28.

District and provincial organizations that have completed their congresses will be directed toward field operations. It is planned that the congresses for some metropolitan cities, primarily Istanbul and Ankara, will be held last.

Within the framework of this calendar, preparations for the 8th Grand Ordinary Congress will be completed by the end of March at the latest. The grand congress is planned to be held in May.

Along with the congress process, the staff within the AKP will be reviewed.

ERDOĞAN EXPECTED TO RENEW HIS A-TEAM

Erdoğan will hold the initiative for the Central Decision and Administrative Board, which is the party's governing body and consists of 110 members including alternates.

Erdoğan is also expected to renew the party's public face and his A-team. AKP officials describe the congress process as the determination of the cadres that will prepare for the 2028 elections.
