Critical PM meeting: 150 more candidates to be determined in CHP

As the local elections approach, the CHP, which has announced its candidates for 351 electoral districts, will determine approximately 150 more candidates at the Party Assembly (PM) meeting to be held on Thursday.

In the CHP, in accordance with the party charter, candidates for the Local Administration General Elections to be held on March 31, 2024, are determined with the approval of the PM.

In the PM meetings held to date, candidates for 7 metropolitan municipalities, including Ankara and Istanbul, 12 provinces, 77 districts affiliated with metropolitan municipalities, 147 district municipalities, and 108 town municipalities have been announced.

PM MEETING TO BE HELD ON JANUARY 4

The CHP will hold its PM meeting on January 4 under the chairmanship of Chairman Özgür Özel.

It has been learned that candidates for around 150 electoral districts will be announced after the meeting.

The CHP has announced 7 metropolitan mayoral candidates based on the principle of conducting surveys and face-to-face interviews with prospective candidates during the candidate determination process.

ATTENTION ON THESE THREE CITIES

While it is stated that the delegation assigned by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to conduct public opinion polling and candidate identification for the İzmir candidacy is continuing its work, the metropolitan mayoral candidates for the provinces of Eskişehir, İzmir, and Aydın have not yet been announced.

It has been alleged that Eskişehir Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen may withdraw from candidacy and that Odunpazarı Mayor Kâzım Kurt may become the candidate in Eskişehir.
