Critical statement from Devlet Bahçeli regarding CHP's judicial process: He answered the question 'Will absolute nullity emerge?'
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made important statements regarding the People's Alliance, the CHP's stance against judicial decisions, and the process the government calls a 'terror-free Turkey.' Bahçeli said, 'We are in favor of our President continuing his duty.'
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli gave a clear answer to the question of whether President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan would be a candidate again. Bahçeli stated, "Regardless of what the conditions are in the future, I am in favor of our President continuing his duty."
Evaluating the reaction shown by the CHP following the court decision regarding its Istanbul Provincial Congress, Bahçeli said, "One must respect the law. There cannot be an event where we say we do not recognize the court's decision." Bahçeli stated that this stance by the CHP is wrong and that they must fulfill the requirements of the court's decision.
Bahçeli also made important statements regarding the process referred to as a terror-free Turkey. Stating that President Erdoğan and the relevant ministers are working on this issue with sensitivity, Bahçeli said that the 51-person committee formed in Parliament continues its work on counter-terrorism. "The participation of non-governmental organizations and political party representatives is very important. There are sound steps being taken to conclude this matter decisively," he said.
The MHP leader also touched upon the investigations into the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and other mayors. "If they are right, they should be acquitted; if they are guilty, they should receive their punishments," said Bahçeli, emphasizing that indictments should be prepared in October and the judicial process should be initiated in a short time.
Bahçeli also addressed the rhetoric of CHP leader Özgür Özel. "I did not see Özgür Özel's psychology as good," said Bahçeli, noting that Özel's harsh speeches and misuse of certain concepts were reflected in his behavior and facial expressions. Bahçeli said that Özel should be calmer and more patient.
Making statements regarding legal regulations for the terror-free Turkey process, Bahçeli noted that peace is like a two-winged bird and, recalling the role of terrorist leader Öcalan, drew attention to the importance of establishing dialogues with the separatist terrorist organization PKK. Bahçeli stated that former Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk and Ahmet Özer are important figures who will contribute to Turkey's peace process.
Touching upon the tension experienced after the cancellation of the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress, Bahçeli emphasized that this situation is an internal matter for the CHP. Expressing that the media is bringing the CHP's internal issues to the agenda, Bahçeli said, "I think the CHP will overcome this situation within itself."
LET THE CORRUPTION CASE BE BROADCAST LIVE!
Speaking to Sabah Newspaper, Bahçeli also requested that corruption cases against CHP officials be opened to the public. "The Turkish people should see everything," said Bahçeli, stating that the trials should be broadcast live on channels like TRT. He pointed out that this would be a healthier way for the public to reach a conclusion.
ABSOLUTE NULLITY QUESTION
MHP leader Bahçeli said that there is uncertainty regarding whether an absolute nullity decision will emerge concerning the September 15 CHP case, but that the process has begun and the congress processes complement each other.
