Critical statement from Özgür Özel ahead of the commission! Striking Constitutional detail: 'We will not let anyone drive a nail into the columns of the Republic'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel gave striking messages regarding the agenda in his statements in Kahramankazan following his visit to TUSAŞ. Criticizing the recent steps taken against CHP-run municipalities, Özel said that the government is attempting to carry out a coup against a future CHP government. At the same time, he took a clear stance regarding the new commission to be established in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), stating, "We will not be part of the Constitutional debate."

Speaking about the new commission to be established in Parliament, Özel stated that the CHP's stance on this commission is clear. Emphasizing that the commission must act on a basis of transparency and dialogue, Özel made a harsh statement, saying, "We will not let anyone drive even a nail into the columns of the Republic." Özel stated that the fundamental values of the Republic will be defended on this issue and that no contradictory or absurd statements will be accepted in any way. He said, "Let alone letting them cut the columns of the Republic, we will not allow anyone who says they will drive even a tiny nail into its columns. We are the founders and the guardians of this Republic."

"AN OPERATION AGAINST THE WILL OF THE NATION"

Özel also mentioned the success achieved by the CHP in the local elections in Kahramankazan, stating that this success has earned the appreciation of the public. However, he subsequently harshly criticized the steps taken by the government against CHP-run municipalities. "Those who do not do what is required of them in power are carrying out an operation against the future government. On the surface, the targets are CHP mayors, but in reality, what is being targeted is the nation's local election will and the future ruling party," he said.

Özgür Özel also harshly criticized the postponement of strike decisions taken during the collective bargaining process for public workers on the grounds of "national security." Describing this situation as "dictatorial behavior," Özel stated that the promises of raises given to workers were not kept and said, "Instead of sitting at the table with those who go back on their word, the main interlocutor is Erdoğan." Stating that they support the strike decision of Türk-İş, Özel said that they are behind the workers' pursuit of their rights until the end.
