Critical summit in CHP! Three metropolitan mayors step in

It has emerged that a new initiative has been launched to prevent the debates following the decision of absolute nullity in the CHP from turning into a deeper division within the party. As part of the contacts carried out within the party, it was stated that three metropolitan mayors met with both Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel to contribute to the search for a solution.

OFFICIAL CONTACTS BEGAN AFTER THE DELEGATION OF MPS

It had previously been announced that CHP deputies Engin Altay, Ali Öztunç, and Gürsel Erol had held meetings with both figures. However, it was stated that these individuals were not acting as an official delegation.

According to the report by Sözcü, it has emerged that the individuals who took on an official role in the contacts carried out to overcome the crisis within the party were Mersin Metropolitan Mayor Vahap Seçer, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş, and Adana Metropolitan Mayor Zeydan Karalar, who is awaiting reinstatement to his post.

THEY MET WITH THE TWO LEADERS SEPARATELY

According to the report, the delegation consisting of the mayors first met with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu at the CHP Headquarters on Wednesday. The delegation then met with Özgür Özel in a meeting held outside the Parliament.

It was stated that the meetings addressed how the process currently being experienced in the CHP should be managed and how the tension within the party could be reduced.

"DO NOT LET THE PARTY DIVIDE" MESSAGE

It was learned that the delegation conveyed a common message to both leaders. During the meetings, it was emphasized that the party should not divide, voters should not be alienated, and the current process should be managed without creating an image of conflict.

It was reported that the mayors expressed that the emerging picture disturbed both Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Özgür Özel, and shared their views that the problem could be solved through mutual dialogue and meetings.

It was stated that during the meetings, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu drew attention to the de facto situation that emerged as a result of the legal process. It was noted that Özgür Özel maintained his stance regarding an extraordinary convention and continued his insistence in this direction.
