Criticism for Mansur Yavaş from AKP member: Debt, price hikes, concerts...

Nihat Yalçın, Deputy Chairman of the AKP Group at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, made a statement targeting the administration of Mansur Yavaş. Claiming that the municipality is being managed through price hikes and borrowing, Yalçın alleged that the expenditures made do not offer solutions to the problems of the citizens.

In his written statement, Yalçın noted that the municipality has implemented exorbitant price increases across many service items and used the following expressions:

"From cemetery fees to nursery charges, from licensing procedures to sewage services, major price hikes have been implemented in almost every area. In the past, they occupied the agenda for five years with excuses like, 'We don't have a majority in the Council, so we cannot take action, we are being blocked.' Now they have the Council majority, but they have not offered a single solution to traffic, public transportation, or infrastructure problems."

Stating that only topics of price hikes, borrowing, and sales have been on the agenda at the Municipal Council for the last 7 months, Yalçın made the following criticisms:

"Every month they receive authorization to sell dozens of plots of land. The municipality is currently in a state where it cannot even pay its insurance debts. They constantly receive borrowing authorization, pushing the municipality further into debt. On top of that, they implement price hikes and organize concerts, but they have no actions that will produce solutions to the citizens' problems."
