Date announced for DEM Party's 5th Ordinary Congress

The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) aims to hold its 5th Ordinary Congress on September 20 at the Ankara Arena Sports Hall. As part of the preliminary preparations for the congress, a central commission has been formed within the party, and a broad consultation process has been initiated that will start in the provinces and conclude at the center.

Providing information about the details of the congress process, DEM Party Deputy Co-Chair responsible for Organization, Elif Bulut, stated that numerous meetings have been implemented at local and regional levels.

"WE PLAN TO COMPLETE THE CONFERENCES IN AUGUST"

The party leadership will hold conferences at the provincial and district levels in the first stage to ensure strong participation in the congress process. Stating that they attach importance to making the meetings at this stage as inclusive as possible and incorporating the suggestions and opinions of different segments, Elif Bulut said, "First of all, pre-congress conferences will be held in the provinces. These will be conferences where the views and suggestions of all structures and segments are taken with the widest possible participation of the provinces. At this stage, we plan to hold conferences where the hope for great change and transformation of the congress, which we need around a certain perspective, will be shaped by suggestions coming from the local level."

The conferences are organized in provinces, districts, or neighborhoods according to local needs and dynamics. Bulut announced that after the aforementioned initial conferences are completed, regional conferences will begin, and subsequently, a workshop will be organized for the suggestions obtained. She stated, "We aim to have all conference preparations and the general conference completed in August. Of course, while all these preparations are being made, women's congress preparations and conferences will also be carried out simultaneously."

"COMMISSIONS AND PROGRAM ARE BEING RENEWED"

In the statement, it was emphasized that technical preparations for the congress have been accelerated and that the process of determining the Party Assembly will also be carried out within the same scope. Underlining the internal party renewal process, Bulut said, "In this context, the Party Assembly will be determined by taking suggestions and opinions. With the completion of technical preparations, we will hold our congress on September 20. While these preparations are being made, the congress commission will also have some sub-studies. There will be changes to the bylaws and program. We are also preparing to establish a commission for that. Sub-commissions have also been formed for the commission to carry out technical preparations and work in accordance with the perspective of expansion."
