Decision reached in investigation regarding Murat Ongun

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's advisor Murat Ongun was the subject of a criminal complaint filed with the prosecutor's office by the Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Provincial Administration, Department of Controllers, regarding allegations that he had taken a luxury vacation with his family at the Courchevel ski resort and was living in a house worth 50 million TL.

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office determined that the ski vacation in question did not take place in the world-famous Courchevel and that there was no evidence to suggest that the vacation expenses were obtained through irregular means.

Furthermore, the prosecutor's office, through investigations conducted via the Beşiktaş District Police Department and the Beşiktaş District Governorate, established that the Ongun family are tenants in the house where they reside.

DECISION OF NON-PROSECUTION

After 2 years, the prosecutor's office closed the investigation file opened against Murat Ongun on charges of fraud against public institutions and organizations and violation of Law No. 3628 with a decision of non-prosecution. The prosecutor's office concluded that there were no grounds to file a lawsuit against Ongun.
