DEM Party announces locations where it will field candidates in the West
The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) announced the locations where they will field candidates in the West following their Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting held yesterday.
The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) discussed the March 31, 2024, local elections during its MYK meeting.
DEM Party Spokesperson Ayşegül Doğan stated at a press conference held at her party's headquarters that they would implement a strategy of building alliances for the local elections.
“WE WILL TAKE BACK WHAT WAS TAKEN FROM US BY FORCE”
Addressing the decisions made by the MYK regarding the local elections, Doğan said, “We will take back what was taken from us by force.” Emphasizing that they would reunite all municipalities where trustees were appointed with the will of the people, Doğan also stated that they would achieve new gains.

In her statement, Doğan included the following remarks: "For our party, these elections are more than just a local election. We will take back what was taken from us by force; we will take back the municipalities where trustees were appointed. In addition to this, we will achieve new gains. We will continue on our path by establishing various negotiations and alliances under our party name."
Doğan also announced the locations in western Turkey where candidates will be fielded in the first phase.
Accordingly, the locations where the DEM Party will field candidates in the first phase are as follows:
Adana - Ceyhan, Seyhan, and Yüreğir
Antalya - Kepez
Mersin - Central, Akdeniz, Toroslar, and
Istanbul - Esenyurt, Sancaktepe, Adalar, and Sultanbeyli
Aydın - Central, Didim, Efeler, Germencik, and Söke
Konya - Cihanbeyli and Kulu
Kocaeli - Dilovası
İzmir - Torbalı, Bayraklı, and Menemen
Manisa - Gölmarmara, Turgutlu, and Yunusemre
Çanakkale - Gökçeada
Tekirdağ - Çorlu and Çerkezköy
APPLICATION PERIOD EXTENDED
Doğan announced that the application period for candidacy has been extended by 5 days. The application period, which was originally set to end tomorrow, has been extended until December 25.
