DEM Party's Diyarbakır candidates announced
The DEM Party's candidates for the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality have been announced.
The Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) co-mayoral candidates for the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality have been determined.
As a result of the primary elections held for the second time after the initial ones were canceled, Serra Bucak was selected as the party's female candidate, and Doğan Hatun was selected as the male candidate.
Following Serra Bucak's selection on January 22, the primary elections held yesterday across 17 districts to determine the male candidate have concluded.
In the election held between Doğan Hatun and Garip Kandemir, Doğan Hatun received 64 percent of the votes and became the male co-mayoral candidate.
The following statement was shared on the social media account of the DEM Party Diyarbakır Provincial Organization regarding the matter:
"All ballot boxes have been opened and the vote count is complete. Garip Kandemir received 36 percent of the votes, and Doğan Hatun received 64 percent of the votes, earning the right to be the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality co-mayoral candidate."
