Demirtaş to present defense in court tomorrow: Facing up to 20 years in prison!
Former HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtaş, who has been imprisoned for 7 years, will present his defense at a hearing on Tuesday, December 5, at 14:00. Demirtaş faces up to 20 years in prison.
In the case at the Mersin 14th Criminal Court of First Instance, which was formed by merging 10 files regarding accusations of publicly insulting the government and state organs under Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code (TCK) during his rally speeches in 2015 and 2016, Demirtaş faces up to 20 years in prison.
The court panel is expected to reach a verdict in this hearing regarding Demirtaş, who is being held in Edirne Prison.
