Dervişoğlu calls on the opposition for a presidential candidacy! He announced his proposal

While the new "opening process" discussions, initiated by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, have dominated the political agenda, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu made significant statements on Sözcü TV. Announcing that the İYİ Party will not participate in the commission to be established in Parliament as part of the process led by Bahçeli, Dervişoğlu began his speech with the economic crisis. Stating that the living conditions of low-income citizens in Turkey are worsening every day, Dervişoğlu used the following expressions:

“There is a very serious economic crisis. Both retirees and minimum wage earners are struggling to survive below the hunger threshold. The country's fundamental problem is the economy. We do not have the luxury of leaving a Turkey to future generations that is different from the one we inherited.”

“THE SYSTEM HAS TURNED INTO ONE-MAN RULE, WE MUST GET RID OF IT”

Criticizing the Presidential Government System harshly, the İYİ Party leader argued that the current system has made Turkey ungovernable and noted the following:

“This system has turned into a one-man regime. Turkey needs to return to a parliamentary democratic system. Other opposition parties say this from time to time, but we are clear and determined.”

“THE OPPOSITION MUST MEET ON A COMMON PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE”

Dervişoğlu also called on opposition parties to unite. Stating that they must unite around a common candidate in the upcoming elections, the İYİ Party leader made the following assessment:

“If we want to get rid of the system, we have to reach a consensus on a common presidential candidate. However, this is not enough. Strong representation in Parliament is essential. Otherwise, we cannot find the power to change the system.”

Dervişoğlu stated that the İYİ Party will continue its independent line, but also emphasized that they must act with a perspective that transcends parties for the future of the country.
