THE ARREST OF ÜMİT ÖZDAĞ AND SUAT TOKTAŞ

"In such times, it is necessary for the political institution to do what it must. Both personally and as a party, we have followed the testimony processes and the arrest processes of both Mr. Ümit Özdağ and Mr. Suat Toktaş. Today, we visited them with permission obtained from the Ministry of Justice to have the opportunity to speak more comprehensively.

By cold, I did not mean it in a meteorological sense. While Turkey is experiencing hot developments on one hand, we are also experiencing a series of events that take people into an ice age on the other. There are also things happening in Turkey related to perception. I had the opportunity to gain an idea about their trials and what the essential evidence of the crime is based on. I possess enough legal knowledge for my own needs.

Looking at the accounts of both Mr. Suat and Mr. Özdağ, we observed that there is no evidence of a crime that would warrant an investigation, let alone an arrest. The public knows for what purpose this is being done. The public does not want to be suppressed. The public is facing a method of suppression aimed at silencing social segments that react to negative things."
