Dervişoğlu's reaction to the lieutenants: It is the same as what occupation commanders do

Political party group meetings are continuing as planned. İYİ Party leader Müsavat Dervişoğlu made statements at his party's group podium.

Here are Dervişoğlu's prominent statements: 

Speaking about the February 6 earthquakes, Dervişoğlu said, "Over 50,000 of our people lost their lives. More than 107,000 people were injured, many of whom suffered lifelong damage. Hundreds of thousands of people lost their relatives, their homes, and their workplaces—in other words, their nests and their livelihoods. At least 2 million of our citizens, whose exact number we still do not know, are far from their hometowns, the lands where they were born and raised, and where their ancestors are buried. I once again wish mercy upon those who died, and patience and well-being to those who remain. 11 of our provinces and 14 million of our people were affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes that occurred in 2023. At least 518,000 residences were directly destroyed or heavily damaged. Many more became unusable. AKP Chairman Erdoğan said that 850,000 residences and workplaces would be built. He repeatedly stated in the media and at rallies that he would deliver 319,000 of these before a year had passed. From the data announced last week by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality candidate Kurum and Erdoğan, we learn that 201,688 independent units have been delivered. It is not difficult to guess whether the infrastructure, roads, water, electricity, and vital units such as kitchens and bathrooms of these have truly been completed. We also more or less know how construction tenders and sub-tenders for doors, windows, paint, and infrastructure are conducted. So let's take a look; let's assume the data is real and the houses are ready for use: how many houses were needed in our cities that were the epicenter of the earthquake, and how many have they built? They said they would build 254,000 houses in Hatay. They delivered 45,000. 112,000 were to be built in Maraş; they were only able to deliver 34,000. In Malatya, they said they would build 103,000 residences; so far, they have only delivered housing to 26,000 of our citizens. In short, they have not been able to reach half of the number they said they would deliver within 1 year, even after 2 years. In other words, they said they would build 850,000 residences and workplaces. In contrast, only 200,000 of these—that is, less than a quarter—have been built. This is their success rate: 23 percent."

'THE GOVERNMENT IS NOT GOVERNING TURKEY' 

Stating that "The government is not governing Turkey," Dervişoğlu used the following expressions:

"This government is exploiting this country as capital that it can hold hostage. It is sucking its blood like an army of occupation, a colonial company, or a mandate administration. The state has been turned into a toy in the hands of a group of rent-seekers, and all state institutions have been surrendered to cronyism. Every week that passes, our thresholds for shock are being crossed, and the signal that our future will be darker than our past is being given by this government. In this vein, the latest scandal took place in front of all of Turkey, on live broadcast. On January 30, 2025, at the Presidential Palace, on the occasion of the 'Judicial Judges and Public Prosecutors and Administrative Judges Draw Ceremony,' the shameful picture of the decay we are experiencing was revealed. This picture also explains in all its colors why our citizens no longer have security of 'life, property, and honor.' Because the 'judge' to whom they explain their troubles is busy grinning at the AKP chairman instead of listening to them. Yes, during this ceremony—note that it is a judge-prosecutor draw ceremony hosted by the President, who is also the AKP Chairman. The so-called Minister of Justice appointed by the same person is there. All of these are legacies from the 'not enough but yes' days and the FETÖ era. During the ceremony, the AKP Group Deputy Chairman wants to introduce his 'nephew,' who is among the judges and prosecutors, to the President; he announces him, makes him stand up, and asks him to salute the President. And thinking he is doing his nephew a favor, he puts him under a great cloud of suspicion, even if he got in on his own merit. And if there are those who got in on their own merit, he drags them through the mud as well, casting doubt on them and all honest members of the judiciary. This incident is a festival of shamelessness that does not even exist in medieval principalities. I do not know what to call being able to do this in a Turkey where another scandal of nepotism and usurpation of rights occurs every day! Unfortunately, under the palace sultanate of the AKP, no such scandal or shamelessness is individual or personal anymore; it is completely systematic."

'EVEN THE BALLOT BOX ITSELF IS UNDER THREAT'

Stating that "Extraordinary powers have been granted to the State Audit Board, which is affiliated with the President," Dervişoğlu continued as follows:

"The government has now lost its way. Today, even the ballot box itself is in danger. A government that recognizes no rules, regulations, customs, traditions, or state traditions is trying to defeat and intimidate a civil society organization that opposes it through the judiciary, or if the judicial path takes too long, through administrative means for which it has granted itself new powers—in short, using all the resources of the state. To leave society breathless and to eliminate democratic principles, it is turning structures like the State Audit Board (DDK) into entities with super-powers to exert pressure on the opposition; it is officially brandishing the DDK sword against dissidents."

REACTION TO THE DISMISSAL OF LIEUTENANTS

Stating, "They have once again shouted from the highest level that they have not taken a single step back since the day they declared themselves co-chairs of the Greater Middle East Project (BOP), that they have lost none of the audacity they had when they attempted to put the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) on trial alongside FETÖ, and that they have lost none of their desire to dissolve and fragment Turkey, which they carried out yesterday under the guise of a 'solution process'," Dervişoğlu continued with the following remarks:

"This move is one and the same as what the occupation commanders and their collaborators did when they forced the demobilization of Turkish armies. They could not stomach the fact that students of the Military Academy, whose crest bears Mustafa Kemal, and members of the Land Forces, whose crest bears Mustafa Kemal, declared that they are 'soldiers of Mustafa Kemal.' It was difficult for the 'internal front,' as they call it, that they swore to protect the Turkish state unconditionally and primarily, rather than the palace, and the Turkish nation, rather than a handful of shameless minorities."

İMRALI NEGOTIATIONS

Declaring, "By destroying the Republic, they want to leave us defenseless in this geography, and by ruining the army, they want to leave us without an army," Dervişoğlu concluded his speech as follows:

"It is no coincidence that a deputy from the Öcalan-ites in Parliament, acting as a relative and spokesperson for the terrorist leader, conveyed this note from İmralı to everyone: 'If this issue is resolved, the door to life opens for everyone. If this issue is not resolved, Turkey will retreat to Anatolia and experience its own hell.' Yesterday, a chairman from the Öcalan-ites said, 'Mr. Bahçeli is not the head of the executive. A big step falls to Erdoğan, who is at the head of the executive. The ball is now in Erdoğan's court.' Yes, the interview and the statement are exactly as such. Now, I ask these derelicts who have lost their minds and reason, who are desperately implementing treason plans, and who are struggling as if racing against time, and the AKP chairman at their head: What events were you involved in that brought you to the point of seeing the terrorist leader Öcalan as a savior? What is the true nature of this issue that you have not allowed to be done for 22 years, could not get done, and are now selling as the miracle of the century if it is done? Whose hands are you a prisoner in? What has happened to you? Come out and explain this matter to us! Explain it, and if this is not a deliberate act of treason but a quagmire you have fallen into, and you are throwing Turkey into it at the cost of getting yourselves out, then confess. Come, let us, as the Turkish nation, save you too. Surrender not to the enemy, but to the Turkish children of the Republic!"
