The first of the investigations conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is based on allegations of "acting in concert with the PKK and hiring members of the organization," while the second investigation is based on allegations of "corruption and bribery."
A total of 84 people, including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Murat Ongun, Beylikdüzü Mayor Murat Çalık, Şişli Mayor Resul Emrah Şahan, and singer Ercan Saatçi, have been detained.

SUSPECTS UNDERWENT MEDICAL EXAMINATION
The detained suspects were brought to the Istanbul Police Department's Vatan Street complex.
While Ekrem İmamoğlu's medical examination was conducted at the police headquarters, the examinations of the other suspects were carried out at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine annex building near the Istanbul Police Department, accompanied by 2 forensic medicine specialists and 1 forensic medicine technician.
Officials stated that the medical examinations were conducted in accordance with patient privacy.

WHAT HAPPENS NOW? A 4-DAY DETENTION PROCESS BEGINS
The detention of Ekrem İmamoğlu has also brought about discussions regarding whether a trustee will be appointed to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
CNN TÜRK Istanbul News Director Nihat Uludağ shared the following information regarding how the process will proceed:
"What happens now? How will the process work? A 4-day detention period is expected. There is a detention order for 106 people, and currently, 84 people are in custody. Ekrem İmamoğlu and the other individuals will be held in the police detention cells for four days."
