DEVA responds to criticisms regarding Erdoğan

At the Turkish Grand National Assembly's new legislative year reception, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with various political party leaders hosted by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. The fact that opposition leaders came together with Erdoğan brought about discussions and criticisms.

DEVA Party Deputy Chairmen İdris Şahin and Büşra Sakınmaz responded to the criticisms directed at their party via social media. Emphasizing that the DEVA Party's stance is clear, İdris Şahin stated, "Our determination to fight against injustices, lawlessness, and corruption is absolute." Şahin noted that there has been no change in the government's attitude and that their understanding of opposition will not change either.

Büşra Sakınmaz, for her part, stated, "Our position is clear, our rhetoric is out in the open," expressing that they are not paying heed to the criticisms. Sakınmaz said that they do not attach importance to the criticisms from certain CHP circles and that the DEVA Party will continue to advance on its independent path.

DEVA Party Chairman Ali Babacan, in a statement made after the meeting, said, "This process is very important and is progressing step by step. Of course, we exchanged greetings with the President." Babacan stated that the meeting was a natural process and should be evaluated as a reflection of the commission's work.

DEVA Party Deputy Chairman Mehmet Ali Ekmen also stated that the leaders were invited individually and that the meeting took place within this framework.
