Devlet Bahçeli defends Murat Kurum! 'They stepped in to discredit him'
In his speech at his party's group meeting, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli responded to criticisms directed at Murat Kurum following the disaster in İliç, Erzincan, saying, "Those mentalities that realize they will throw in the towel in Istanbul have stepped in to discredit Kurum." Reacting also to the Council of State's decision to reinstate judges, Bahçeli stated, "It is clear that some decisions made by the Constitutional Court and the Council of State directly harm the honor of the state, our national existence, and our security."
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli made statements regarding the agenda at his party's group meeting.
Starting his speech with the disaster in İliç, Erzincan, Bahçeli reacted to the criticism of AKP's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Murat Kurum for authorizing a capacity increase at the relevant mine during his tenure as minister, despite all objections. Bahçeli said, "Mr. Kurum has performed his duty properly, and it has become clear that he has no account he cannot give."
Also reacting to Abdurrahman Dilipak's July 15 claim, Bahçeli used the expressions, "If this person does not prove his claims, he is the most dishonorable person in the world."
Speaking about the decision to reinstate judges dismissed due to FETÖ, Bahçeli said, "The Council of State's decision is extremely dangerous and objectionable. It is appropriate for the Council of Judges and Prosecutors (HSK) to re-examine the reinstatement decision."

Bahçeli's statements are as follows;
"A disaster occurred due to a landslide at a gold mining site in the İliç district of Erzincan. Unfortunately, 9 of our mine workers remained under the soil. Our state has mobilized.
The evacuation and cleaning process of the soil mass piled up at the mining site to reach our workers is being carried out carefully. The fact that new landslides occur from time to time hinders the work. Our goal is to bring our workers back to life.
"AN INVESTIGATION COMMISSION MUST BE ESTABLISHED"
As the MHP, we have been closely following the hot developments since February 13. We found it appropriate for the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) to step in on February 14. We find it accurate to establish a commission to investigate the accident in all its aspects and to determine measures. It will be natural to listen to all of them, taking into account some commentators, so-called environmentalists, and politicians chasing after rent. Let everyone get the burden off their chest so we can see. Opening a political and ideological door to livelihood over our pain is ruthless and opportunistic.
"THE HURRIED PREPARATION OF THE EXPERT REPORT IS CONTROVERSIAL"
Mine accidents have been witnessed in many countries of the world. A grave environmental disaster occurred in the 2000 mining accident in Romania. Mining accidents in Ghana in 2009, South Africa in 2014, and Canada in 2015 destroyed the environment. No such dangerous leakage was detected in İliç. It is known that cyanide and other heavy metals used during the leaching process in gold mining are negative for the environment and human health.
It is impossible to ignore the share of the chain of negligence existing in the gold mine on February 13. The hurried preparation of the expert report for the judicial investigation to yield healthy results is controversial. Preparing a new report and forming a new committee is the most reasonable solution.
"MR. KURUM HAS PERFORMED HIS DUTY PROPERLY"
For some reason, Mr. Murat Kurum has become a target. Unfair criticisms regarding Mr. Kurum's ministerial period point to an insidious propaganda. Bankrupt mentalities have moved to discredit Mr. Kurum. It is not the ministry that gives the EIA report. Mr. Kurum has performed his duty properly, and it has become clear that he has no account he cannot give.
We will overcome these difficult days. I pray to God that our workers will be brought out safe and sound. The days when our İliç district will stand tall again are near. These troubled days will be overcome with patience.
FIRST COMMENT ON ERDOĞAN'S EGYPT VISIT
Tensions and closeness between countries are changing. International relations are a dynamic process. Uncertainties are increasing to a worrying extent worldwide. Crises and conflicts emerging in different geographies threaten peace, tranquility, and stability. Political, economic, and commercial power struggles fuel harshness and bottomless disputes.
In such an environment, our Turkey draws attention with its high foresight, maneuverability, and diplomatic power. The reality of a Turkey that is capable both in the field and at the table is appreciated by everyone.
Diplomatic relations are making uninterrupted progress to establish a belt of peace, tranquility, prosperity, and stability around us. Our President's visits to the UAE and Egypt are of historical nature. We evaluate that this visit is both correct and beneficial. Turkey-Egypt relations will rise to the level they should be.
Turning backs on each other for Turkey and Egypt is contrary to history, and the cost will be heavy. In addition to the signing of the joint declaration, the increase in trade volume is a promising development. Close contact between Turkey and Egypt will consolidate the strategic gain of both countries.
The chorus of opposition outbursts is a miserable understanding that cannot comprehend Turkish politics. Turkey is making other parties that have fallen into disgrace, especially the CHP, jealous and cracking. Let them tie their hope to artificial intelligence, the People's Alliance will stamp its seal with faith using Turkish intelligence.
"ISRAEL MUST STAY AWAY FROM RAFAH"
Israel must stay away from Rafah. The announcement that Egypt will suspend the peace treaty if Israel enters Rafah declares that Israel will have to pay a heavier price. Israel must end the massacres.
Without the establishment of an independent Palestine based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, peace and tranquility in the Middle East will remain a dream.
"CHP AND DEM ARE INTERTWINED"
The opposition parties' underestimation and attempt to dilute Turkey's sovereign rights and struggle for survival is nothing but the revelation of a severely wounded politics. Establishing a bond by being 'dem-ed' (brewed) with the PKK and connecting with FETÖ is the greatest evil that can be done to our country. The CHP has a problem with the Turkish nation. Withdrawing the CHP to the substitute bench, reforming and disciplining it is a national duty.
The mask of being 'dem-ed' is explained as urban consensus, ballot box consensus, and Turkey alliance. The DEM Party has assumed a tutelary position. The rotten, unnamed alliance relationship in every electoral district has exposed the true face of the CHP. The CHP and DEM are intertwined. The Turkish nation will not allow those who try to overthrow Turkey on March 31."
HARSH REACTION TO DİLİPAK
Reacting harshly to Islamist writer Abdurrahman Dilipak's words regarding the July 15 coup attempt, 'The government knew everything in all its details 4 months in advance', Bahçeli used the expressions, "If this person does not prove his claims, he is the most dishonorable person in the world."
Bahçeli continued his words as follows;
PRICE INCREASES
How will social and economic peace be ensured without holding those who update price tags upwards and the FETÖ members behind them accountable?
COUNCIL OF STATE'S JUDGE/PROSECUTOR DECISION
After the July 15 FETÖ coup attempt, nearly 4 thousand judges and prosecutors identified as having links to the organization were dismissed. The decision of the 5th Chamber of the Council of State to reinstate 387 judges and prosecutors is very dangerous and has no legal basis. Were the members of the Council of State eating 'maklube' while making this decision? The Council of State did not make a decision according to justice and law. The HSK has stepped in, initiated a new investigation, and objections have been made to the General Assembly of the Council of State.
As the MHP, I announce that we will support the 8th Judicial Package submitted to the TBMM because it will strengthen the search for rights and contains the protection of personal data.
I had stated that it had infiltrated everywhere, especially the TSK and the judiciary, with 8 main headings in the fight against FETÖ. I am adding the 9th; Price anarchists are also FETÖ members. Their shops and houses should be closed."
