Earthquake in AKP: 80 members, including former mayor, resign

Eskişehir's Sarıcakaya district organization and 80 people, including neighborhood heads, have resigned from the AKP.

According to the report by Özge Zaim from Artı Gerçek, among those who resigned is Faruk Güler, who served as the Mayor of Sarıcakaya for a term representing the AK Party.

Stating in his announcement that the promises made to him were not kept, Güler said, "As a result of the information I obtained, I realized that the promises made to me would not be kept. Realizing this has damaged my honor and that of my colleagues in the cause."

"WE WERE COMPELLED TO END OUR TIES"

"For this reason, I have notified the AK Party Eskişehir Provincial Presidency via notary that I have resigned from my AK Party membership and withdrawn my candidacy for the AK Party nomination," said Faruk Güler, adding, "Throughout this entire process, I also informed the AK Party Sarıcakaya District Administration about the developments. As a result, I and the colleagues I set out with were compelled to end our ties with the AK Party due to the justified discomfort we felt regarding the process."
