Eid message from IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu celebrated the holiday for all citizens with a video he posted on his social media account. 

In his holiday message, İmamoğlu stated, "May we have holidays where our unity and togetherness are permanent, our solidarity is strengthened, there are no wars or conflicts, those in need find relief, and bountiful tables are set in every home."

"MAY IT CONTINUE THROUGHOUT LIFE"

İmamoğlu's message is as follows:

"I wish for our holiday to be spent with the most beautiful feelings, and for it to be felt with kindness, friendship, and affection in every corner of our beautiful country, from the most remote village to our beautiful Istanbul. The month of Ramadan has ended; during Ramadan, we felt each other, and we made it a principle to treat our people well, to make up for our shortcomings, and to greet our neighbors. May these feelings not be confined to the month of Ramadan, but continue throughout the whole year, throughout our entire lives. 

Of course, spending a very special 5 years with our fellow citizens in Istanbul was our greatest prayer this Ramadan. What this holiday heralds for us is that those beautiful feelings should not only be for our Istanbul, but for every part of our Turkey—filled with municipalities that make their people happy through local governance, with democracy, peace, equality, justice, and at the same time, development... Filled with all municipalities that take beautiful steps in making their children happy, making their youth happy, ensuring they look to the future with hope, and preparing mothers, ladies, gentlemen, and retirees for a very beautiful future and supporting them.

Of course, I wish for all our municipalities to be very successful. We need this very much for the future of our country. I know that these beauties in our country, this democracy, equality, and peace will be very good not only for our country but for the entire Islamic world. 

While celebrating our Eid al-Fitr on this occasion, may the month of Ramadan be blessed for the entire Islamic world, and may it be good for all of humanity. Speaking of humanity, may the oppression of all tyrants in the world end. May all wars in the world, especially in Palestine, and all bad behaviors and interventions that take human lives come to an end. I embrace you all with love and respect."
