Ekrem İmamoğlu meets with removed Mardin Mayor Ahmet Türk: Will he visit the municipality?

Ahmet Türk, the elected mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was replaced by a government-appointed trustee on November 4, had been removed from office after being elected for the 3rd time.

Following the appointment of the trustee amid allegations of terror links regarding the DEM Party's Türk, MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli had referred to Türk as a "Kurdish lord."

Following these debates, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor and Union of Municipalities of Türkiye President Ekrem İmamoğlu visited Ahmet Türk today. Entering Mardin with a long vehicle convoy, İmamoğlu proceeded to Türk's Kasrı Kanco Mansion.

HE VISITED THE STONE DOOR

The historic stone door of the approximately 150-year-old mansion belonging to Ahmet Türk's family caught İmamoğlu's attention. Commenting on the thickness and appearance of the door, İmamoğlu expressed his admiration, saying, "It's quite a stone door, indeed." Following the visit, İmamoğlu is scheduled to meet with local tradespeople in Mardin.

WILL HE VISIT THE MUNICIPALITY?

During the visit, where Ekrem İmamoğlu was accompanied by members of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye council, it has not yet been clarified whether he will go to the Mardin Metropolitan Municipality building.
