Erdoğan asks for votes in Erzurum for Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir

AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at his party's rally in Erzurum.

In his speech there, Erdoğan asked citizens from Erzurum for their votes for Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir, stating, "You will call our fellow Erzurum natives in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, won't you? You will warn them, saying 'make sure there is no mistake,' won't you?"

Asking for votes for the local elections to be held on March 31, Erdoğan said they want to turn March 31 into a festival of national will.

Repeating his "no vote, no service" rhetoric at almost every rally he holds, Erdoğan continued this tradition in Erzurum as well. Erdoğan said, "We expect strong support from you so that services can continue without slowing down."

Highlights from Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

"Whatever we say about Erzurum, where every sister carries the heart of Nene Hatun, is not enough. I express my gratitude for the 67 percent support you gave in the parliamentary elections and the 74 percent in the presidential elections on May 14-28. Looking at the election results, we understand that the 'Dadaş' (Erzurum locals) have once again shown their difference, loyalty, and affection.

Erzurum has been the gateway for millions of our people coming from their ancestral homelands for centuries. The story of the people of Erzurum, who risked their lives against the actions of Armenian gangs, will be told as an epic.

"MARCH 31 WILL BE A FESTIVAL OF NATIONAL WILL"

Are we ready to turn March 31 into a festival of national will? We will work hard for this, we will run more.

We have always shown our people and our cities our service through works and politics until today. We have made 173 billion liras of public investment in Erzurum. Erzurum will be earthquake-resistant. We have mobilized our ministries for this. We expect strong support from you so that services can continue without slowing down.

The mentality that is a remnant of the single-party era is waiting, hand in hand with the extensions of the terrorist organization. You will call our fellow Erzurum natives in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, won't you? You will warn them, saying 'make sure there is no mistake,' won't you?"
