Erdoğan criticizes 4 major cities and İmamoğlu: 'Those chasing personal careers...'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the AKP Antalya Candidate Introduction Meeting.

Erdoğan described Istanbul, Ankara, and Antalya as "ruined," and İzmir as "terrible."

Highlights from Erdoğan's remarks are as follows:

ATTACKED THE OPPOSITION

"I am very pleased to be with you in Antalya, our country's tourism capital and the locomotive city of agriculture. We have missed Antalya. We are here today to entrust our district mayoral candidates to you. We had previously announced our Metropolitan Mayoral Candidate, Hakan Tütüncü. We are now entering a period where we will work with full-court pressure. We have never looked for excuses on the path of serving the nation, and we have never been among those who choose the easy way. We quickly turned our cities, which were suffocating under the ideological captivity of the CHP that took office in the previous election, into livable places. Our cities, especially Istanbul and Ankara, which met with our services, experienced their golden ages in a quarter of a century. We offered services never before seen in local administrations to the benefit of our citizens.

With the increase in the population of our cities, the expectations of our people from municipalities have also changed. We have elevated municipalities from a position of only collecting citizens' trash, building parks, and providing public transportation services to a position of performing much broader duties. As the AK Party and the People's Alliance, we are striving to meet this changing basket of expectations. We loved, we became the beloved. We were loved, we became the lover. We are reborn every moment. Who could ever get tired of us. We have renewed not only our staff but also our vision of municipalism to better serve our beloved nation, who is our beloved. With this understanding, we have blended our 30 years of rich experience in local administrations with our strong experience of over 21 years in power. We shared our election manifesto with the public on January 30. Our goal is to pull our cities, whose situation has worsened under the administration of the opposition, out of the vortex they have fallen into and provide them with the high-standard services they deserve.

Istanbul and Ankara are ruined. İzmir is already terrible. Antalya is ruined. Now we are determined to bring our cities back together with the understanding of real municipalism. We cannot leave our cities to the mercy of ambitious people who chase personal careers and put on shows instead of doing work and finding solutions to the nation's problems. We know that our Antalya cannot tolerate losing another 5 years."
