Erdoğan gives election instructions to his party
The AKP has begun preparations for the 2028 elections with expatriates. Following the instructions of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, booklets explaining the AKP's services for Turks living abroad have begun to be distributed at border crossings.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has given instructions to his party's foreign relations department for the 2028 elections.
According to a report by the Türkiye newspaper, known for its proximity to the government, in line with this, the AKP Foreign Relations Department has gone to border crossings to distribute booklets to expatriates coming to Turkey for vacation, detailing what has been done for Turks living abroad over the past 23 years. The booklets explain voting opportunities, official procedures that can be completed without coming to Turkey thanks to e-Devlet, population and passport procedures, military service via foreign currency payment, social security, health and customs, traffic, and travel conveniences.
The information included in the booklet also notes that the number of foreign representative offices, which was 163 in 2002, has been increased to 260; that services such as e-Consulate, mobile consulate services, and a 24/7 consulate call center serving in 8 languages have been implemented; and that members of parliament have been elected from among citizens living abroad to represent them.
In addition, the work of institutions such as the Yunus Emre Institute, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities, the Turkish Maarif Foundation, and the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) Subcommittee on Turks Abroad and Related Communities, which aim to facilitate the affairs of Turkish citizens living abroad and assist them in every field, is also explained.
