Erdoğan heaps praise on Kılıçdaroğlu, attacks Özgür Özel

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan answered journalists' questions regarding the agenda on the plane while returning to Turkey after completing his official contacts in Ethiopia.

Responding to a question, Erdoğan evaluated the state of the Republican People's Party (CHP) in previous years, pointing out that political competition took place on a more stable ground during the period when Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu was party leader.

Erdoğan emphasized that the Kılıçdaroğlu era was more stable by criticizing the current situation with the words, "We competed fiercely with the CHP on the political ground during that period as well. Thanks to the support of our nation, we crossed the finish line in all of these races. We did not experience any problems. But now, the situation the CHP has fallen into is so chaotic that it cannot be explained by the dynamics of politics."

'CHP IS IN A VISE'

Claiming that the problems currently experienced in the CHP administration are not limited to ordinary political difficulties, Erdoğan alleged that a structure surrounded by a lack of merit, as well as allegations of corruption and irregularities, has formed within the party. Furthermore, while criticizing the party's new management with the phrase "The incompetent have surrounded the CHP," Erdoğan said, "Now the Republican People's Party is actually in a very different vise. On one side are gangs of corruption, theft, and bribery; on the other side are figures who are the embodiment of incompetent and meritless politics, and they have surrounded the CHP. They are engaged in such an effort."

'DIRTY TRICKS, INTERNAL PARTY CONSPIRACIES...'

Evaluating the developments within the party and the criticisms made after Özgür Özel became Chairman, Erdoğan stated, "Dirty tricks, the well-known daggers, and internal party conspiracies have significantly shifted the ground upon which the CHP sits in politics. It is not possible to explain this only as a lack of vision, incompetence, and lack of foresight. But things are really going downhill. The Chairman showers insults upon insults on me and my friends everywhere he goes. You cannot get anywhere with these insults. That is why we are not interested in the swamp the CHP has fallen into. We are just focusing on our work. And we are continuing on our path in this way, God willing."

Touching upon the political debates that have hardened following the change in the CHP chairmanship, Erdoğan underlined that his own administration will continue to focus on the country's issues and their roadmap.
