Erdoğan lashes out at CHP and İmamoğlu in İzmir: 'Don't hold back the little brother-in-law...'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is making statements in İzmir, 21 days before the local elections.

Here are the highlights from Erdoğan's statements:

LASHED OUT AT İMAMOĞLU FROM İZMİR

There is not much time left to heal İzmir's wounds, 20 days. But we will not stop; the main staff, women's branches, youth... No stopping for 20 days. On the evening of March 31, İzmir will be beautiful in a different way. It was liberated from the enemy a century ago, but for a long time, it could not be liberated from those who are destitute of works and services. İzmir has always stood still under the grip of neglect. Unfortunately, this city has received very little of what it deserves in terms of local government. I ask, what have the people you authorized to represent you in Parliament and municipalities done? They made secret deals with terrorist organizations that the people of İzmir see as their mortal enemies. They fell into infighting among themselves. I ask, where are the people they brought into Parliament through bargaining now? They put on Atatürk masks and just sat back and did nothing.

Is there transparency in the CHP's relationship with its 'brewed' allies? No. Do you know who will be carried into the municipalities on the back of the CHP? No. Can there be politics like this? Is this treatment deserved by CHP voters in İzmir and our other cities? There is a chairman, but it is unclear whether he exists or not. Everyone who comes and goes gives this chairman a hard time. With our more than 40 years of experience in politics, we can offer some advice to Mr. Özgür. Mr. Özgür has returned to his oppressed character. Everyone who gets annoyed kicks and punches him. He has a character that constantly gets scolded and acts like 'don't hold back the little brother-in-law' to show himself in Istanbul. He only works half-days anyway. The promotion politics that the CHP headquarters and its candidates have gotten themselves into may work up to a point, but it will shatter upon hitting the common sense of the nation. Look at the pathetic state the CHP has reached.

'THAT WE HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH ANYONE'S LIFESTYLE...'

Our goal is to ensure that Turkey takes its rightful place among the most advanced countries in the world with its diplomacy, economy, army, industry, and all its wealth. We are implementing our programs with determination and are approaching our goals step by step. Shout the truths to our faces, shout so that we can see our mistakes and correct ourselves. There is no arrogance in us. There is only work, effort, and service. This is how much we trust ourselves. We came before you here today with a single purpose; Gündoğdu Square did not mislead us again today. There are 100 thousand people here right now. There are 20 days left here, no stopping. On Sunday evening, March 31, we will all experience this good news together. We want to compensate for our city's lost years together. Municipalism is our job anyway. We have been in power alone for 21 years. If we had any other intention, it would have emerged by now. I suppose there is no one left who does not accept that we have no problem with anyone's lifestyle. We wish for the winner to be İzmir.
