Erdoğan responds to claims of a rift in the People's Alliance: 'With our alliance partners...'

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan responded to claims of disagreements regarding the resolution process and the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) operations within the People's Alliance during the AKP Organization Academy Closing Program he attended at the Haliç Congress Center. Regarding the resolution process, Erdoğan stated, "In the last year, we have thwarted every attempt to sabotage the process. With a patient, careful, and sincere attitude, we are weaving the process stitch by stitch with an embracing style that encompasses all 86 million."

Erdoğan emphasized that they are working for a Turkey without terrorism in the resolution process and stressed that they are in complete harmony with their alliance partners. He used the expression, "We are in complete harmony and solidarity with our alliance partners."

ATTACKED CHP: 'THE 3K VORTEX'

In his speech, President Erdoğan also attacked CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, saying, "The CHP is struggling in a 3K vortex: Conflict, chaos, crisis..." Criticizing the CHP harshly, Erdoğan said, "We are not, have not been, and will not be any part of this chaos, Mr. Özgür. We will certainly do whatever falls to us within the framework of the constitution to ensure that justice is served and that legal processes are carried out without any pressure. We will certainly not bow to threats and calls for street protests," he said.

ÖZLEM VURAL GÜRZEL JOINED THE AKP

It was also announced during the program that Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel, who resigned from the CHP, has joined the AKP. President Erdoğan pinned the AKP badge on Gürzel.

Highlights from Erdoğan's statement are as follows:

"We are not only tightening our ranks, but we are also expanding them. We are experiencing the joy of Beykoz Deputy Mayor Özlem Vural Gürzel and our municipal council member joining the AK Party family. Welcome to our family assembly.

We will stand shoulder to shoulder with these brothers and sisters to disperse the clouds of lack of service that have settled over Istanbul like a nightmare, and we will not allow the 'Interregnum' that Istanbul is going through to wear it down any further.

We want to walk together as 86 million by completely tearing down the wall of terrorism. Those who try to design Turkey's domestic and foreign policy with the stick of terrorism are rowing in vain this time. Let them not bother; there will be no turning back from here. We will not allow such a situation at any cost.

In the last year, we have thwarted every attempt to sabotage the process; with a patient, careful, and sincere attitude, we are weaving the process stitch by stitch with an embracing style that encompasses all 86 million. We are in complete harmony and solidarity with our alliance partners.

A very different agenda prevails in the main opposition camp. This opposition is abandoned. They are struggling in a 3K vortex: Conflict, chaos, crisis... They have become unable to engage in politics without creating tension at home and abroad. The situation has become so bad that they have no words or projects other than insults and threats.

In their own minds, they are trying to exert pressure on the courts and politics, and they are messing that up too. They think they can cover up corruption by dividing our people, attacking our police, and terrorizing the streets.

My dear brothers and sisters, you know that when the scandal in Manavgat first broke, the main opposition party chairman accused our judicial and law enforcement personnel of setting a trap; even though the fingerprints of his own friends, whom he vouched for, were found on the baklava boxes, he shamelessly accused our party. Going even further, he said there was a 32-hour video recording and that he had watched it. I called on him, saying, 'If it exists, go and hand it over to the judiciary.' He ignored it all. Exactly 62 days have passed, and this slanderer has not shared even a 32-second clip, let alone 32 hours, to prove his slander of a setup.

Yesterday, he released another new video regarding the Manavgat scandal. Just like the previous one, euros and dollars are in the lead role in this one too. What will the gentleman say to this footage?

Those who applied to the court are CHP members, those who were complained about are CHP members, those who said 'I took a bribe, I gave a bribe' are CHP members, those who said 'I voted for money' are CHP members... The defendants and the plaintiffs, all parties are CHP members... There is a civil war within the CHP, but their chairman is accusing us and trying to drag us into the swamp. We are not, have not been, and will not be any part of this chaos, Mr. Özgür. We will certainly do whatever falls to us within the framework of the constitution to ensure that justice is served and that legal processes are carried out without any pressure. We will certainly not bow to threats and calls for street protests. We will not allow our party and our government to be dragged into the increasingly ugly fight between the old and new cadres of the CHP. Despite the rudeness of the main opposition, we will maintain our political courtesy."
