Erdoğan's local election message in the UAE: '48 days later...'
Speaking at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates, AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave messages regarding the local elections on March 31, 2024.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates.
In his speech, Erdoğan reacted to global peace issues and Israel's attacks on Gaza, stating, "A fairer world is possible. All of humanity needs this. However, our world is passing through a twilight zone where change, tension, crises, and in some places, conflicts trigger one another."
Erdoğan's statements are as follows:
"Today, there is a reality of a Turkey that makes a name for itself with its growing economy, strong infrastructure, increasing effectiveness in the international arena, and breakthroughs in the field of defense. We are proud to build such a Turkey. We are building the Turkey of the future with our Century of Turkey vision.
We have carried Turkey forward by growing it in every field. We have continued our struggle with determination to bring Turkey together with its goals. We have been hosting nearly 4 million refugees for years. It was not easy for our country, surrounded by a ring of fire, to reach this point today. There is great effort behind every success.

LOCAL ELECTION MESSAGE
48 days later, we will achieve our 18th victory. As in the past, we are now continuing our work very intensively and strictly with the belief that there is nothing for a person except what they have worked for. We have kept the state alive, grown it, and strengthened it by keeping people alive, touching their lives, and winning their hearts. Our purpose for existence in politics is to leave behind a beautiful legacy with gratitude and appreciation. We will run without tiring, stopping, or resting until we realize our Century of Turkey vision.
"A FAIRER WORLD IS POSSIBLE"
A fairer world is possible. All of humanity needs this. However, our world is passing through a twilight zone where change, tension, crises, and in some places, conflicts trigger one another.
We witnessed the health dimension of this during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were shaken by the Russia-Ukraine war. This war dragged the global economy and politics, which were already struggling with serious uncertainties, into a huge vortex. We have taken responsibility for ensuring a ceasefire and lasting peace in the Russia-Ukraine war.
ISRAEL'S ATTACKS ON GAZA
The Istanbul process and the Black Sea initiative prevented the food crisis from deepening further.
Despite UN resolutions, the occupation in Palestinian territories continues to increase. Israel does not give up on massacre and destruction. One does not need to look far to understand the injustice the Palestinian people are facing. Every issue that cannot be resolved has grown over time. Problems cannot be solved by sweeping them under the rug.
If Israel wants lasting peace in the region, it must stop chasing expansionist dreams and accept the existence of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders.
The path to peace and development in our region passes through the acceptance of an independent Palestine. We will never leave our Palestinian brothers and sisters without support, helpless, and alone. I would like to state that we regret the increasingly intense character assassinations against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in recent times.
I invite countries with a conscience to protect the agency (UNRWA), which is a lifeline for 6 million refugees in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, and Palestinian territories."
