Erdoğan reminds Netanyahu of empty seats

Erdoğan stated that the international order established after World War II has lost its credibility and that global competition is steadily increasing. Emphasizing that the world is facing many challenges, from water and climate crises to trade wars, Erdoğan said that human rights and dignity are being harmed.

Stating that Turkey is located in a region that bears the burden of this bankrupt system, Erdoğan expressed that the country is working for peace and stability. Expressing that Turkey cannot remain indifferent to the suffering and oppression in its region, Erdoğan drew attention to the situations in Gaza, Yemen, and Syria.

CRITICISM TOWARD NETANYAHU

Erdoğan noted that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was forced to speak to empty seats at the United Nations Security Council, saying, "Do not take the sigh of the oppressed; it will surface slowly but surely." Describing the events in Gaza as "genocide," Erdoğan emphasized the importance of the international community recognizing Palestine.

Stating that the number of countries recognizing Palestine has exceeded 150, Erdoğan argued that economic sanctions should be imposed on Israel. He also stated that deterrent measures, such as being banned from international sports tournaments, should be taken.
