April 23 message from Erdoğan

President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated in his message that he commemorates the founder of the Republic, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with respect, saying, "I wish for our children, who are the guarantee of our future, to spend every day with the joy of a holiday."

Erdoğan's post is as follows:

"I congratulate the 104th anniversary of the opening of our Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children's Day of our children, who are the apple of our eye.

I wish for our children, who are the guarantee of our future, to spend every day with the joy of a holiday.                   

I commemorate with respect everyone who contributed to our country reaching these days, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the first Speaker of our Grand National Assembly, the Commander-in-Chief of our War of Independence, and the founder of our Republic.

I pray for God's mercy upon each of our heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives without blinking for the sake of our independence and our future."
