Erdoğan's first statement after the terrorist organization PKK's congress: 'You may receive good news at any moment'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke at the "Strong Turkey with Family" program. Erdoğan drew attention with his remarks following the so-called congress of the PKK.

Highlights from the statements of President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan are as follows:

"I would like to thank the AK Party Women's Branches for their efforts in organizing our 'Strong Family with Mother, Strong Turkey with Family' program. I celebrate Mother's Day for all mothers, especially my own mother, my dear wife, and my daughters. Israel's attacks on Palestine continue; wherever we look, women are dying. Mothers are being massacred in Gaza. As Turkey, we are doing our best to ensure that all of this comes to an end. I pray that our Lord grants us days when Mother's Day will be celebrated with joy.

In our faith and culture, mothers hold a sacred place. 'Paradise lies at the feet of mothers.' I used to kiss the soles of my mother's feet, and she would pull them back. I would ask my mother, 'Why are you pulling them back?' I would say, 'There is the scent of paradise there, and I want to smell it.' Then my mother would smile. When I was sick, it was she who waited by my bedside. I remember it was 1 a.m., and my mother would wait for me on the balcony of our house. Is it possible to forget those days?

Just as the family is the foundation of society, the mother is the foundation of the family. We have always provided very strong support to mothers. From social assistance to employment programs, and services for children and the elderly, we have always stood by women. We have also provided support against violence and increased our women's shelters. Our nursing homes have increased in the same way. In 2025, which we have declared the Year of the Family, we have also accelerated birth assistance.

As we said before the election, there is also a loan we have opened to encourage our youth to marry. We offer interest-free loans with a two-year grace period to couples who will establish a home in all of our 81 provinces. We are taking many steps to encourage young people to marry. We are striving to prevent the perverted movements known as LGBTI from invading society. We are trying to protect our women by fighting against dangers such as alcohol and gambling. Alcohol addiction is one of the most fundamental causes of domestic violence. Whatever we do, we do it to protect our families. We do it to reach brighter tomorrows together."

Our struggle, which we continue as the People's Alliance for a Turkey free of terrorism, is no different from this. We are determined to save our country from the scourge of terrorism. We are moving forward with firm steps on the path to a Turkey free of terrorism. In a manner befitting the seriousness of the state, we are following the work moment by moment, without leaving even the smallest gap. I believe that with the support of our nation and especially the prayers of mothers, we will reach the goal of a Turkey free of terrorism. We will not give an opportunity to those who try to drown our region in chaos, tears, and instability. We will give our answer to those who try to divide us by closing our ranks.
