Erdoğan's Gaza response to Özgür Özel before Asia trip: 'How dare you'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had criticized US President Donald Trump's statements regarding the dispersal of Palestinians in Gaza to other countries, as well as Erdoğan's silence on Trump's remarks.

Erdoğan responded to the opposition days later.

Highlights from Erdoğan's speech are as follows:

"We see that some people, from their chairman to their mayors, dare to question our sensitivity toward Palestine. How dare you question the stance of myself and our government on the Palestinian cause? Aren't you the ones who, until just yesterday, labeled Hamas a terrorist organization and blamed the resistance fighters just to look appealing to the occupying forces?

You should first apologize for the slanders you cast upon the Palestinian resistance, and then speak. A person should have a little bit of shame. The whole world knows well what we have done for the Palestinian cause and our brothers and sisters in Gaza, and what kind of struggle we have waged. No matter the circumstances, we strive to do what is right for Palestine and our brothers and sisters in Gaza."

Erdoğan also added, "The proposals brought to the agenda regarding Gaza by the new US administration under the pressure of the Zionist administration have no aspect worth discussing from our perspective."
