It was stated that exactly 800 million 353 thousand TL was spent on the Presidential Protection Department in the first three months of 2025. While the daily expenditure amount reached 8.8 million TL, this figure surpassed the budgets of many critical security units. The exponentially increasing protection expenses have also brought about discussions regarding the use of public resources.

According to data from the General Directorate of Security (EGM), which is affiliated with the Ministry of Interior, the Presidential Protection Department, to which Erdoğan's bodyguards are attached, spent 800 million 353 thousand TL in the first three months of the year.

According to this statement, the daily expenditure of Erdoğan's protection detail reached 8 million 888 thousand TL.

On the other hand, the expenditure made for the Presidential bodyguards surpassed the expenditures of many units such as the Security Intelligence Department, the Counter-Terrorism Department, the Cyber Crimes Department, the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department.

2021: 306 million TL

2022: 526.1 million TL

2023: 1 billion 77 million TL

2024: 2 billion 291 million TL
