Erkan Baş: İmamoğlu is a contractor, he couldn't be a candidate for us even if he came to our door

Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Chairman Erkan Baş made statements regarding the path they will follow in the local elections.

"WE WILL NOT EVEN LIST ANY CONTRACTORS FOR THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL"

In his statement, Baş said, "We have made a few decisions that are currently finalized. I am saying this as an example. The Workers' Party of Turkey will not nominate any contractors for district, provincial, or metropolitan mayoralties. We will not even list a single contractor for the municipal council. Why? We are challenging this rent-seeking municipal approach entirely. For example, this is an indicator," he said. 

"EVEN IF HE CAME TO OUR DOOR, HE COULD NOT BE A CANDIDATE FOR US"

Responding to questions from İpek Özbey on Sözcü TV, Erkan Baş reminded that Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is also a contractor and said, "Even if he came to our door, he could not be a candidate for us; we will not nominate even a single contractor. Why can't he be? You are a contractor, my friend, you are in a business relationship with the municipality," he said.
