Erkan Baş issues local election ultimatum to CHP! 'If they impose a right-wing candidate...'

As the possibility of an alliance between the CHP and the İYİ Party in the local elections has completely vanished, Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Chairman Erkan Baş has sent a noteworthy message to the CHP leadership.

“WE CAN ACT TOGETHER WITH THE LABOR AND FREEDOM ALLIANCE”

Speaking to Tv100 columnist Barış Yarkadaş, Erkan Baş said regarding the roadmap they will follow for the local elections: "We met with our provincial chairs, talked, and evaluated the process. We can act together with the Labor and Freedom Alliance in the local elections. This process will be completed within approximately 10 days. Our party's boards will decide on this."

“WE WILL ENTER THE ELECTIONS WITH OUR OWN CANDIDATES EVERYWHERE IN TURKEY”

Regarding Yarkadaş's comment, "If you field candidates in many places, the CHP leadership and its voters might criticize you as the party that causes them to lose," Baş replied: "We do not want to be the party that causes others to lose. However, the parties that have expectations of us must also act with the same responsibility accordingly. If right-wing candidates are brought before us and it is said, ‘The election can only be won with these names,’ and this is imposed upon us, then we will enter the elections with our own candidates everywhere in Turkey."
