Explosive remarks on Kılıçdaroğlu from figures close to Özgür Özel: 'They have no concern for making the CHP the ruling party; their only desire is...'
As rumors of MP expulsions have increased in the CHP recently, the administration's disciplinary processes and intra-party approach have sparked a new wave of debate.
Debates that began following Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's assumption of party leadership via a nullity decision continue within the CHP.
The nullity administration, which has begun a purge, has removed 36 provincial chairs from office so far. While the expulsion of 9 MPs is being sought, allegations of expulsion regarding new deputies are emerging every week.
While expulsion allegations are also being discussed regarding MPs who joined the CHP from different parties during the Özgür Özel era, Ümit Dikbayır and Adnan Beker, who came from the İYİ Party, left their parties during the ongoing debates. On the other hand, it is suggested that some MPs who have been involved in politics within the CHP for many years and worked with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in the past could also be included in the disciplinary process.
EMPHASIS ON "INSTITUTIONAL IDENTITY" IN DISCIPLINARY PROCESS
The nullity administration states that its fundamental criteria in disciplinary processes are a concept of "purification" and "protecting the party's institutional identity." The Kılıçdaroğlu camp, which states that they will not carry out a comprehensive expulsion process, points to the changes made in provincial presidencies as an example. Stating that nearly 10 of the approximately 40 removed provincial chairs have been referred to disciplinary action, the administration argued that the disciplinary decisions taken were "necessary in terms of protecting the party's institutional identity."
REACTION TO DISCIPLINARY DECISIONS FROM THE ÖZEL CAMP
According to a report by Cumhuriyet, figures close to Özgür Özel are objecting to both the changes in provincial organizations and the expulsion processes. Arguing that those who criticize the nullity decision are being prevented from engaging in politics within the party, names from the Özel wing assessed the situation as follows: "There is no criterion for these expulsions. Even if we accept that they are expelling people whose names are mentioned in lawsuits, they are also disciplining people who say they do not recognize the nullity administration. They are acting out of spite, which is why they are even carrying out dismissals. They are removing elected provincial administrations that have no lawsuits regarding their congresses without any justification. The current administration has no concern for producing politics or making the CHP the ruling party. Their only desire is to consolidate their intra-party power, and they are making expulsions for this purpose. They base this not on the authority they received from the party through the convention, but on the authority they received from the Palace judiciary."
