Fatih Erbakan responds to Bahçeli's "Öcalan" call: Such a thing cannot be proposed, nor even imagined

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli gave important messages at the MHP group meeting. Starting his speech by saying, "Today I will speak from the heart of the book in a way that leaves no need for interpretation," the MHP leader added a new dimension to the "solution process" debates that began after he shook hands with DEM Party members at the opening of the Parliament. Reiterating his call to PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, saying, "Let the terrorist leader, who said he was ready for any service when he was brought to Turkey, come and unilaterally declare that terrorism has ended and his organization will be liquidated," the MHP leader said, "If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the TBMM, and shout that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been abolished." 

Yeniden Refah Party Chairman Fatih Erbakan used the following expressions in a statement he made on his social media account:

"Devlet Bahçeli's proposal for the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan to speak in the TBMM, which conducted our War of Independence, is a heavy blow to our nation's fight against terrorism and the cherished memory of our martyrs. Such a thing cannot be proposed, nor even imagined.

If an interlocutor is being sought, it is not the terrorist ringleader who represents the Kurdish people; it is political parties, NGOs, opinion leaders, and our citizens in the region. In these lands that we have made a homeland with the blood of our martyrs, no concessions will ever be made to terrorism, and the unity and solidarity of our nation will always be protected."

Devlet Bahçeli’nin, terörist başı Abdullah Öcalan’ın İstiklal Harbimizi yürütmüş olan TBMM’de konuşmasına yönelik teklifi, milletimizin terörle mücadelesine ve şehitlerimizin aziz hatırasına ağır bir darbedir. Böyle bir şey teklif değil, tahayyül dahi edilemez.
