Feti Yıldız to Ekrem İmamoğlu: 'Do you laugh or cry'

MHP Deputy Chairman in charge of Legal and Election Affairs Feti Yıldız leveled criticisms at the primary election process that the CHP will organize to determine its presidential candidate.

Reacting to the candidacy application of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, Yıldız stated in a post on his social media account, "You spout rehearsed grand words whenever you open your mouth, but at least learn to do one thing in accordance with procedure and law! A presidential candidacy application is being made at the IMM... Do you laugh or cry?" he said.

Arguing that the current Presidential Government System is superior to the parliamentary system in terms of democratic values, Yıldız claimed that the opposition has now accepted this reality and continued his words as follows.

"The fact that both the legislative and executive branches are elected directly by the people proves once again the superiority of the Presidential Government System. While the opposition was promising everything during the days of the Table of Six, today no one is talking about a return to the parliamentary system. Judging by the cheers, our lion social democrats have also understood this."
