Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently detained at the Marmara Prison in Silivri, shared a message regarding the fires continuing across Turkey.

Since his personal X account has been closed, İmamoğlu, who made his voice heard through his lawyers via the "Presidential Candidate Office" account, issued a call to the government.

"INSTEAD OF SILENCING THE OPPOSITION..."

"Instead of spending your energy on silencing the opposition, which is the true voice of the nation, spend it on extinguishing the flames surrounding the country," said İmamoğlu, who continued with the following statements:

"I am watching the flames engulfing the forests from prison, and my heart is burning. The same nightmare every year: Incompetence, lack of foresight, lack of precautions, lack of preparation... You have once again remained spectators to disasters that were coming in plain sight. We are burning! Along with our forests, thousands of lives and habitats are being destroyed. These fires are turning not only our trees but also our future into ash."

İmamoğlu continued as follows:
