First comment from Bahçeli on the İmamoğlu protests! 'A dangerous process...'

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, who has been resting at home following heart valve surgery on February 5, shared his assessments on the agenda with the Türkgün newspaper. In today's installment of the statements, the first part of which was published yesterday, Bahçeli expressed his views regarding the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) operation, in which Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was also arrested, and the events that followed.

Targeting the CHP and the media over the İmamoğlu protests, Bahçeli stated, "Our party, which has been proven right in every warning it has issued, never wishes to be proven right once again by the consequences that the irresponsible attitude of the CHP will lead to."

Using the phrase "Media commentators must act with a great sense of responsibility," Bahçeli assessed, "Comments that steer society toward chaos, violence, or rebellion mean a violation of legal and moral responsibilities. While the media should be a platform that encourages peace, unity, and common sense, adopting a provocative tone with rhetoric that undermines the trust and peace of society is a criminal act that exceeds ethical principles."
