First comment from the Palace following the terrorist organization PKK's dissolution decision: Emphasis on a new Constitution

Chief Advisor to the President Mehmet Uçum has published a comprehensive assessment regarding the terrorist organization PKK's process of laying down arms and dissolution. Uçum characterized this process as the most fundamental stage of the "Century of Turkey" vision and argued that the concept of a "Turkey without terror" is not a goal, but a brand-new beginning.

In his statement, Uçum referred to the founding philosophy of the Republic of Turkey and underscored that Kurds, along with Turks, are original founding elements of this country. "The people of Turkey; with Turks, Kurds, Circassians, Arabs, Alevis, Sunnis, and all other social components, are the guarantee of the Turkish Nation," said Uçum, expressing that the State of the Republic of Turkey is also the national state of the Kurds.

Let us state from the beginning that; achieving the goal of a Turkey without terror and realizing the Century of Turkey is a requirement of our commitment to the sublime memories of our dear martyrs who gave their lives for the indivisible integrity of the Homeland, and it is our fundamental duty.

It appears that; under the great national leadership of President Erdoğan and with the courageous political initiative of Mr. Bahçeli, a Turkey without terror, which began as a State initiative and is being carried out as State policy, is turning into reality.

The people of Turkey, with all their elements, including Turks and Kurds, determined their own destinies together until eternity by winning the War of Independence in the struggle for existence against imperialism and by founding the Republic of Turkey.

Atatürk, with the expression "The people of Turkey who founded the Republic of Turkey are called the Turkish Nation," made the determination that all components of the people of Turkey, including Turks and Kurds, are original elements of the Turkish Nation. This determination became one of the fundamental founding principles of the Republic.

Since the Nation is a concept that encompasses the past, the present, and the future, this principle is valid today as well; that is, the basis of the Turkish Nation is the people of Turkey. The people of Turkey are the guarantee of our diversity and our Turkish Nation unity. These days are days when it is shown to the whole world that the destinies of all components of the Turkish Nation—including Turks, Kurds, Circassians, Arabs, Alevis, and Sunnis—are one and the same, and their future visions are singular.

What the statements made for a Turkey without terror reveal is this:

Kurds are an original founding component of the Turkish Nation.

Kurds, in their capacity as an inseparable part of the Turkish Nation, are founders and permanent owners of the Republic of Turkey.

The State of the Republic of Turkey is also the National State of the Kurds.

The Century of Turkey is the century of Turks and Kurds.

In full accordance with this paradigm, all statements made show that the fundamental stage in the transition to a Turkey without terror has been completed. Furthermore, these statements are a historical confirmation and declaration of the integration of Kurds with the State of the Republic of Turkey and the Turkish Nation.

The magnificent unity and harmony in politics between President Erdoğan and Mr. Bahçeli, which takes Turkey as its basis, the extraordinary support of the people, the responsible approach of the political institution, and the State carrying out the process with all its institutions and at full capacity have been the guarantee of the transition to a Turkey without terror.

At the point we have reached, it is now possible to make the following determinations for a Turkey without terror:

A Turkey without terror is not a result, but a new beginning. With the achievement of the goal of a Turkey without terror and the conclusion of this stage, a historical period of rise is beginning for Turkey.

The new period will strengthen Turkey in every respect. It is accepted by everyone that we are moving to a new stage where comprehensive reforms will be made in the fields of democracy and law, and where national and patriotic democratic law will be concretized.

As can be seen, our founding process, which began with the War of Independence and was registered with the proclamation of the Republic, will be completed with the implementation of inclusive reforms, primarily a new constitution, following the transition to a Turkey without terror. Thus, Turkey, having completed its founding, will continue its great march toward the goal of making the second century of the Republic the Century of Turkey, unhindered and more strongly.

May the eyes of the Great Turkish Nation, the guarantor of our unity where all elements of our people are original components, be enlightened.

Long live a fully independent and Great Turkey whose national unity is registered.
