The founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was commemorated with a state ceremony at Anıtkabir on the 85th anniversary of his passing.
The ceremony at Anıtkabir was attended by the cortege led by AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, including Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, members of the Presidential Cabinet, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, IYI Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener, heads of high judicial bodies, the TSK (Turkish Armed Forces) command echelon, political party representatives, bureaucrats, and other state officials.
Özgür Özel shook hands with President Erdoğan at Anıtkabir for the first time in his capacity as CHP Chairman.
HE HAD SAID 'SIX OF ONE, HALF A DOZEN OF THE OTHER'
Regarding the change in leadership at the CHP, Erdoğan had said, "Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Is there any difference between them? No. They thought that if we take terrorist organizations on our side, we will win elections in this country. You lost 12-13 elections. You were always with them. The winner; you were with them too."
