CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır was the first to react to Gürsel Tekin's statement, in which he said, "I swear on my honor that not even one of those protesting here is a CHP member."
Criticizing Tekin's words, Başarır said, "No fear in life is like the fear of those who betray the people. If you betray the people, you walk around with umbrellas and bodyguards, and you cannot enter your father's house with your head held high. Everyone here is not a CHP member like him, they are honorable CHP members. This is a shameful scene."
