First statement from Gürsel Tekin following resignations from the trustee committee: 'Even one person is enough'

The resignations within the trustee committee appointed to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency have sparked new debates within the party.

With Müjdat Gürbüz also withdrawing from the committee, two members have now left the five-person group. Following these developments, Gürsel Tekin made statements to Saygı Öztürk from Sözcü TV.

Tekin emphasized that the committee would continue its function, stating, "Even one person is enough; we are at our post."

In his assessment during the program, Saygı Öztürk noted that the committee defines itself not as trustees, but as a call committee. Allegations that certain correspondence within the party led to the resignations have also come to the fore. Gürsel Tekin is expected to go to the provincial headquarters on Monday, accompanied by former provincial chairmen Ali Özcan, Cemal Canpolat, and Berhan Şimşek. The former chairmen expressed their views by saying, "If this were a trustee appointment, we would not go, but this is a call committee."

Gürsel Tekin stated that despite the departure of two members from the committee, they will continue their duties with the remaining members and meet with their friends in the party. Noting that the court decision legitimizes the call committee, Tekin added that they are at their post and will fulfill this duty.
