First statement from İYİ Party's Istanbul mayoral candidate Buğra Kavuncu: 'The message is not for anyone'

İYİ Party Chair Meral Akşener announced during today's group meeting that İYİ Party Organization Chair Buğra Kavuncu is the candidate for Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor. 

Kavuncu answered questions from journalists following the group meeting. 

"WE WILL EXPLAIN WHY WE WOULD MANAGE IT BETTER"

Kavuncu stated the following:

“May it be auspicious. May it be auspicious for our country, for Istanbul, and for the people of Istanbul. I will head to Istanbul, and we will have preparatory work. After that, we will explain our dreams and projects for Istanbul to our voters; what kind of Istanbul we want and expect, and why we would manage Istanbul much better.”

"THE MESSAGE IS NOT FOR ANYONE"

Upon being asked about his statement that “loyalty to some is put on the shelf,” Kavuncu said the following:

“The message is not for anyone. What is being emphasized here is only this: We have made the decision to enter the election freely and independently. In line with this decision, every member of our party will do what is required of them. In such moments, when the responsibility falls to you for your institutions, your party, your country, and your state, every Turkish citizen is obligated to say yes to it.”
