First statement from Özgür Özel following the postponement of the CHP convention lawsuit

The lawsuit filed to cancel the convention of the Republican People's Party (CHP), which saw a change in the party's general chairmanship, has been postponed. The court decided to await the finalization of the appeal process regarding the decision of lack of jurisdiction and adjourned the hearing to September 8.

The lawsuits filed in separate courts by former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş, who was expelled from the CHP, and some delegates, demanding the cancellation of the convention and the removal of authorized boards, were consolidated at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance.

FIRST MESSAGE FROM ÖZGÜR ÖZEL

"Postponement" Following the decision, the first statement came from CHP Chairman Özgür Özel.

"No conspiracy against our party is independent of the March 19 Coup," said Özel, adding, "It is clear that today's hearing is also a process-oriented political operation, not result-oriented, aimed at causing debate within our party, stopping our march to power, and breaking our determination to fight."

"We will never lose sight of our goal, we will not turn back from our path!" said Özel, who gave the following message:

"Tomorrow at 20:30; we will be in Saraçhane, the heart of the resistance, on the 100th DARK day of democracy and justice and the 100th DARK day of the coup! We will stand by our Mayor Ekrem and our fellow travelers to the end. I invite the youth, women, laborers, retirees... everyone who loves this country to the place where everything began, to Saraçhane."
